WHAT'S NEW AT LUCY HILL??

Public Information:

As of March 30th 2009, we are CLOSED FOR THE SEASON.

If you didn’t get the opportunity to come out to the track last winter, there's always next year! We will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays Noon to 3:00pm. Instruction and equipment are provided and included in the $10 fee. All you have to do is dress for the cold.

Important Dates:

May 14th, 2009 (Thursday): Aspen Ridge 10th Annual Family Night, 3:30 pm (all Club members are encouraged to come out and help). Aspen Ridge Elementary in West Ishpeming will hold their 10th Annual Family Night on Thursday, May 14, from 5:00 – 7:30 pm. There will be many new activities as well as past favorites. A complimentary hot dog supper and dessert will be provided by Jay Blewitt of Jubilee Foods and Tony Lofaro of Lofaro’s Market. The Upper Peninsula Luge Club will host a wheel-sled clinic. Sleds, helmets, gloves, and instruction are provided.

Other possible wheel-sled clinics will be in conjunction with:
YMCA Summer program; Marquette County Fair in August; Marquette General Hospital Picnic at the fair grounds; Fall Festival on Baraga Street in downtown Marquette in October.

Athlete Training Information: (updated 04/01/09)

There is currently no athlete training.

All athletes need to:
1). Be a UPLC member (annual membership form turned in and dues paid).
2). Sign a Waiver

In addition to the above, Returning Athletes need to have their Physical Exam form filled out, and turned in, in order to slide from above third gate.

All forms are downloadable, and they are accessible from our Home Page, under "BECOME AN UPPER PENINSULA LUGE CLUB MEMBER". If you have trouble finding or printing any of the forms, please contact us.

When you come to the hill for training for the first time, please bring with you the filled out forms, and be dressed for a cold-weather workout. Please make checks out to the Upper Peninsula Luge Club.
